Pixelated

What happens when your dreams come true?
That's a question I've been asking myself lately, as the things I used to say "how fine would it be if..." seem to become real after forgetting I even said them. I guess it's just an usual way of
progressing, though I think that one should take a moment of reflection on these things every now and then. You may consider yourself unlucky or beaten by fate, but maybe it's just your dreams that were too small or thought too abstract.
There are a lot of things I dream about, but there are not so many moments when I visualize them coming to reality. This is a reason why I like jogging so much- the more- the better. That's the time when I get alone with my thoughts, hopes, dreams, fears and plans. Kilometer after kilometer the image gets more and more pixelated. A 10 km jog is the best way of figuring out what to do next for me...
As for now, Cappelle la Grande is next :) My last tournament was the "Groningen Open", in December, so France will play the role of the season-opener (hopefully a good one!).

Stay tuned for news and impressions from Cappelle!

Dracula's Peace

With Petruta Moldovan
     A day full of spiritualism...
You can't have a future if you forget your past, that's what they say. I am not a very religious person, though I believe in the existence of some unseen power.
I visited the Monastery of Snagov today, the place where the head of Vlad Tepes was buried. This place is situated on a small island on the Snagov lake. One can feel the pressure of the huge history lying behind this small place of inner peace. More than 600 years the monastery has offered a place of  retreat and reflection for the greatest Romanian personalities. There is a tunnel, linking the island with the small town of Snagov, a tunnel which finds its way under the lake. It dates from the time of Vlad Tepes's rule. There was also a prison which dates from the same time. Maybe I'm being too romantic, but I could feel some kind of a qualm there. Maybe it is because of the many souls which found or did not find their peace there... The small walk to this place has brought me in a state of melancholia and reflection on how small our problems are compared to this World...
If you have the chance, you should definitely visit this place!

Fifty Shades

February has just started and I can't wait for it to pass quicker and no, it's not because I can't wait for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" premier, let me pretend it's just 'cause I can't wait for the next tournament :P
Though, if talking about this "shades" thing, I think that life is about the moments when you get colors and not just simple shades, a shade of a friend, a shade of love, a shade of freedom, a shade of success, a shade of happiness... Our problem is that we see only shades when we could go for a bright color. People are afraid of living a life full of colors, they prefer a cocktail of shades. How to have a full time job living the color of happiness when there are worries that it may not last? That's how we lose it, we lose our fresh green and we get the shady one.
On the other hand, I'd prefer to get a shade of black instead of a black blast...
I wish to live a life which would paint me in all the colors of  the rainbow and I see my job as trying to make myself a high quality paint material, as about providing fine paintbrushes- it's the job of the ones who surround us, so make sure they won't go cheap on you!
